The Bavarian broadcast station in Munich BR digitised its master control room, the two radio complexes for the programmes Bayern2Radio and Bayern 4 Klassik as well as the four presenter suites of the Newscenter.
The Lawo equipment includes two Nova73 HD routers, six Nova17 routers, two monitor desks, six zirkon radio mixing consoles, nine z4 digital mini mixer, 25 Key-20 push-button modules as well as 27 DALLIS frames.
Nova 73 HD-router for the master control room
Along with this reconstruction the BR realised the necessary digitalisation of the master control room. For this, Lawo installed two Nova73 HD routers with mutual redundancy, each one offering the capacity of 8192 x 8192 mono channels. The 24 DALLIS I/O frames allow about 3500 simultaneously switchable signals.
Signal control is performed with two mutually redundant monitor desks as well as redundantly designed software (Line Scheduler and Matrix Control software). This combination guarantees highest reliability.
zirkon for the identical broadcast complexes
The broadcast complexes for the radio programmes Bayern2Radio and Bayern 4 Klassik are identical with regard to their use of technology as well as the layout. Every programme comprises of three control rooms with two studios. Every control room is equipped with one zirkon, each comprising of one central module and four fader modules equaling 16 faders as well as one integrated T60 push-button module. Two additional Key-20 units for editors are installed per control room.
z4 for the BR news center
The BR Newscenter includes one mobile z4 for medium waveband, as well as one z4 in each of the four studios. One Key-20 push-button unit per studio serves for switching the monitoring modulation and signalisation.
